Ministry Statements

Priorities

In pursuit of this purpose, we believe God has called the Church to pursue five essential priorities:

Worship: To exalt God in song, prayer, word and life (“Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs” – Psalm 100:1-2)
Outreach: To passionately involve ourselves in the process of inviting others to faith in Jesus Christ (“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. I surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20 / “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8)
Fellowship: To develop an authentic Christ-like community (“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” – Acts 2:42 / “We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ… if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another…” – I John 1:3, 7a / “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” – I John 4:11)
Discipleship: To commit ourselves to the lifelong pursuit of personal and collective spiritual growth as followers of Jesus Christ (“From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” – Eph. 4:16)
Service: To serve others in the church, our community, and the world in Jesus’ name (“…whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant…just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” – Matt. 20:26b, 28a / “…serve one another in love.” – Gal. 5:13c)
